Piper and Rob: “This pandemic has affected us the most through our jobs. Rob got laid off from his job as a tour guide at Woodford Reserve and he misses his work, especially during the spring. Piper is a bat biologist who is still employed but working from home. Currently, she is waiting to hear from the US Fish and Wildlife Service on the new regulations for handling bats, since it may be possible for people to transmit COVID-19 to native bats. Like Rob, Piper loves her job, so not working with bats this summer will not only be hard for her emotionally, but it will also affect the small company she’s been with for 15 years.
