Cara and Tom

Cara put the two teddy bears in their front-room window 10 days ago, when the coronavirus epidemic still felt quite new. The two bears have been with her for a long time, traveling with her everywhere. The purple one—Purply—is 56 years old. The brown one—Teddy—is 52. Cara got Teddy when she was a little girl. A friend of her uncle’s gave it to her just before he left for Vietnam.
