Lexington was mostly peaceful and mostly sunny on this Memorial Day, though dark clouds rolled through the sky, threatening thunder and lightning. In compliance with Governor Andy Beshear’s request, most Kentuckians did their grilling at home, foregoing the large groups of friends and family that typically mark this day. Many worked in their back-yard gardens. Some worked on poems dedicated to people they will soon say good-bye to.
