Lexington Mayor Linda Gorton suggested we photograph her at the Government Center, her home-away-from-home. She came outside holding large apricot and white ribbons in honor of Lexington’s nurses and the Year of the Nurse. Mayor Gorton noted that Kentuckians can show their support by hanging or wearing their own apricot and white ribbons. The Kentucky Nurses Association also encourages supporters to post photos of ribbons on social media, using the hashtags #ThankYouNurses #TeamKentucky #TogetherKY
